Built off the legendary Makaira platform, the Gold SEa series features a rigid 6061-T6 machined aluminum frame and side plates for maximum strength and precise alignment under extreme drag pressures. Forged and machined aluminum spools, oversized stainless-steel gearing, and precision-machined internal components provide the cranking power and long-term reliability needed when targeting hard-fighting tuna, marlin, and other powerful pelagic species.
Internally, the Makaira Gold SEa incorporates all of the advanced upgrades found throughout the Makaira SEa family. Okuma’s Dual Force Drag system, paired with Carbonite drag washers and Cal’s drag grease, delivers smooth and consistent drag performance with superior heat dissipation during extended offshore battles. Helical cut gears increase smoothness and gear engagement, while the Silent Anti-Reverse system minimizes handle back play and enhances reliability under heavy loads.
